Although it was referred to as corselet gorge.

1911.The Corselet Gorge was being made and sold but it wasn’t until 1907 when Vogue Magazine first used the word ‘brassiere’ in print and it was added to the Oxford English Dictionary in 1911.

According to sales data the average US woman’s bust size has grown from a 34B in 1983 to 34DD in 2013. However, this is not the same across the world. In fact, the average bra size when you look at the global statistics is an A.
4.What was the first sports bra made of?
Believe it or not - Two jockstraps hooked together. During the 1970’s women started to hook two jockstraps together and using that instead of their bra for sports. Thankfully, the sports bra we have come to know and love hit stores in 1977.
5.Who created Cup Sizes?
In the 1930’s S.H.Camp and Company created a cup sizing system that is very similar to the one we use today.
6.When was the padded bra created?
1948.The padded bra was created in 1947 by Frederick of ‘Frederick’s of Hollywood’ and the push up bra followed close after in 1948.
7.What percentage of women wear the wrong size bra?
